Jayalalitha Announces Rs. 500 Crore to the Education Sector in Tamil Nadu

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha announced Rs. 500 crore for the development of higher and school education in the state. She mentioned that the government is planning to set up a centre which links all the universities and affiliated colleges in cloud computing. The primary objective is to offer a wide range of services to teachers and students.

The cloud computing centre will be established on the campus of Anna University. The estimated budget of this project is Rs. 160 crore. Similarly, a motor vehicle technical centre will also come up on the campus. The technical centre will focus on research related to consumption of fuel and emission mitigation of automobiles.

On the other hand, the technical university will also get an auditorium which can accommodate 5,000 students. The estimated cost for the construction of auditorium is Rs. 50 crore . She also announced a research uplift and training centre at Anna University which will coordinate all the aspects related to obtaining a patent.

The other announcements are establishing training centres for the aspirants of Indian Engineering Service at Dharmapuri and Chennai. She also proposed a scheme where 100 engineering students will get a chance to visit foreign countries as a part of the study.
