Continuing the trend, boys have dominated the top ranks of JEE Advanced 2017 examination. On the other hand, only 14% of girls cleared the national level engineering entrance examination this year. The results of JEE Advanced 2017 examination were out on June 11, 2017. Among girls, Ramya Narayanasamy from Hyderabad emerged as the topper. She bagged AIR 35.

As usual, the gender-gap in various campuses of IIT remains as wide as ever. This year, only 33,358 girls registered out of the total 1.38 lakh candidates for the JEE Advanced 2017 examination. The number of boys who appeared for JEE Advanced 2017 examination was three times more than the number of girls. Out of the 33,358 girls, only 7,137 have qualified in the examination.
