Aditi Laddha, a student from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay bagged a top offer from Uber International this placement season. The placement season at IIT-B began on December 1, 2016, and Aditi is the only girl who is selected for the position at Uber in USA. Uber International is one of the reputed companies which offers top placement opportunities to the students across the country.

Aditi secured an all India 6 th rank in JEE (Advanced) examination in the year 2013. She hails from Madhya Pradesh and had bagged a rank among the top 10 in the most competitive entrance examination for UG admissions in the country.

One of the professors revealed that there are only four or five girls out of 90 students in the computer science and engineering wing and all the girls have been performing exceptionally well in studies. Aditi became a role model for most of the girl students who joined later. Along with Aditi, Pranjal Khare who also secured all India top 10 rank in JEE (Advanced) 2013 was also picked by Uber.

Google recruited other girls of computer science and engineering. Charmi Delhi, Mumbai topper of JEE (Advance) 2013 and Palak Jain, who secured all India top 3 rank in JEE (Advanced) 2013 were recruited by Google.

However, the girls at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur , Madras and Guwahati did not bag top offers so far.

This year, several software giants have qued up to recruit the students at IITs. By the end of day 1, i.e., December 1, 2016, 52 students secured jobs. Among them, seven students have been placed in US firms.

On the other hand, Sai Sandeep Reddy, topper of JEE (Advanced) 2013 did not participate in placements. His classmates revealed that he had plans to pursue research and decided to opt out of placements.
