JEE Main 2022 Exam Day Instructions have been detailed below for the examination to be conducted on June 23 to June 29. Other COVID-19 related guidelines are also provided here. Read on for more information.

JEE Main 2022 Exam Day Instructions

JEE Main 2022 examination is set to be carried out from June 23 to June 29 in two shifts each day across multiple examination centres throughout the country. As the examination is being carried out when new COVID-19 cases are on the rise, NTA has separately issued certain precautionary guidelines to be followed on the examination day along with other exam-related instructions. Necessary details of both are provided below.

JEE Main 2022: Exam-Related Instructions

1. The candidates must reach the examination centre by the reporting/entry time given on their admit card. No candidate will be allowed after the gate closing time of the centre as mentioned on the admit card.

2. Candidates will be required to scan the barcode on the admit card at the entry gate using the barcode scanner. It is through this the candidates will be informed about their seat and hall/room number.

3. The candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination centre without their printed Admit Card, Original Valid ID Proof, and a properly-filled Self-Declaration/Undertaking. For more details, read: JEE Main 2022 – Documents Required on Exam Day

4. The candidates must paste their passport-sized photograph (same as Application Form) on the undertaking along with their left-thumb impression in the respective spaces given.

5. Candidates should take a note to not sign their undertaking at home. The signature on the undertaking is to be done in the presence of the invigilator only.

6. Electronic devices such as calculators, mobile phones, etc. are not allowed. The examination centre or NTA will not be responsible for any losses if occurred.

7. As frisking will be carried out with a hand-held metal detector, watches or belts with metal buckles are not allowed.

8. Shoes or other footwear with thick soles are not allowed. Similarly, dresses with large buttons are not allowed as well. Full-sleeved clothing is allowed.

9. Candidates must carry an extra passport-sized photo to be pasted on the attendance sheet during the examination.

10. The Admit Card and the 6 blank pages for rough work (provided by the centre) must be submitted in the designated drop box before leaving the examination hall. Failure to do so may result in non-evaluation of the answer sheets.

11. Things to carry inside the examination centre/hall:

  • Personal transparent water bottle
  • Personal transparent ball-point pen
  • Personal hand-sanitizer bottle (50 ml)
  • Admit Card, Undertaking, Passport Photo, and Original Valid ID Proof
  • For candidates who are appearing for Paper III (B.Arch), they must bring their own Geometry Box, Pencils, Erasers, Crayons, or Colour Pencils.

JEE Main 2022: COVID-19 Related Instructions

1. No candidate will be allowed to carry their mask inside the examination centre. Fresh masks will be given to the candidates at the time of entry. Masks carried by the candidates will be required to be discarded.

2. Social distancing at the centre must be maintained.

3. For precautionary reasons, room/seat number will not be displayed outside the centre as stated earlier.

4. Thermo-guns will be used to check the temperature and if found outside normal range, the candidate will be directed to write the examination in a separate room. No candidate because of this will be barred from writing the exam.
