JEE Main 2023 April 8: Day 2 of JEE Main 2023 Session 2 exam was conducted on April 8 in shifts 1 and 2. The Day 2 exam of JEE Main was moderate with Mathematics as the toughest section. The question paper of JEE Mains consisted of 90 questions (30 from each section). Out of 30 NAT questions (10 each from each section), the candidates are required to answer only 15 (5 from each section). On Day 2, approximately 1.4 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. Today's shift 1 paper was easier than April 6 shifts and can be rated as 'Easy to Moderate'.
Maths was said to be lengthy but not tough.
Physics was comparatively tougher than Chemistry.
Chemistry was completely NCERT-based while Physics had theory + application-based questions.
"The paper was more on the easier side," a Pune student said, when asked about today's paper. "I attempted 73 questions. Maths wasn't as tough as I expected."
As seen in the previous session and session 2 day 1, a good weightage has been given to JEE Main-specific topics. There were about 2 to 3 questions from Biomolecules and Polymers; 3 to 4 questions from statistics, mathematical reasoning, etc.; 2 to 3 questions were also asked from modern physics, semiconductors, etc. The difficulty level of these questions was mostly easy.
Physics had almost equal weightage to all chapters but fluid mechanics had 2 questions.
The weightage between organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry was equally divided as well. NAT section was once again seen to be dominated by Physical chemistry.
In Mathematics, there were questions from Vectors, 3D Geometry, Probability, Binomial Theorem, Indefinite Integrals, Limits, etc.
In Physics, there were questions from Current Electricity, Optics, Modern Physics, Mechanics, etc.
In Chemistry, there were questions from GOC, Hydrocarbons, Coordination compounds, identify missing elements in reactions (organic chemistry mainly), etc.

The overall difficulty level of the paper was classified as 'Easy to Moderate'.
A student, when giving her review, said today's Shift 2 paper to be easier than that of her January attempt.
Physics had a heavy weightage of class 11 but it was said to be easy and direct formula-based. It had more similarities to session 1 physics than the three shifts of this session.
There were questions from gravitation, units and dimensions (match the following), moment of inertia, mechanics, communication system, etc.
Chemistry was also said to be easy and NCERT-based again. Inorganic and organic chemistry had almost equal weightage but that of physical chemistry was comparatively less.
There were questions from biomolecules, polymers, coordination compounds, block chemistry, etc.
Mathematics was again the toughest section with it being rated as Moderate but lengthy.
There were questions from parabola, sets and functions, limits, indefinite integration, statistics (variance), etc.
