JEE Main 2023 Notification

JEE Main 2023 notification has been released today, December 15, 2022, online at jeemain.nta.nic.in . Along with the release of the notification, the application forms have also been released. Like previous years, JEE Main 2023 too will be conducted in two sessions. Interested candidates shall first check and confirm to JEE Main 2023 Eligibility Criteria and if eligible, the registration for the examination can be made online at its official website until January 12, 2023. It is to be noted that the application form submitted now is only valid for JEE Main 2023 Session 1 while separate registrations will be carried out for Session 2.

JEE Main is a popular pan-India level examination conducted for undergraduate admissions into engineering and architecture. The exam consists of two papers: Paper 1 is for Engineering and Paper 2 is for Architecture & Planning. Since 2019, the National Testing Agency, abbreviated as NTA, has taken charge of conducting JEE Main examination. JEE Main 2023 will be conducted in two sessions as a centre-based computer-based test in multiple shifts in the months of January 2023 and April 2023.

JEE Main 2023 Notification Highlights

Aside from the schedule, the following are the major highlights of the entrance examination:

  • JEE Main 2023 will be conducted in two sessions: Session 1 and 2. Candidates can register for either of the sessions separately or for both sessions as well.
  • Paper 1 is conducted only for engineering B.E/B.Tech admissions. It will be conducted for a total of 90 marks which are divided equally into three subjects of 30 marks each: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Paper 2A is conducted for B.Arch admissions for 82 marks. It consists of three parts: Mathematics (30 marks), Aptitude Test (50 marks), and Drawing Test (02 marks).
  • Paper 2B is conducted for B.Planning for 105 marks. It too has three parts. Mathematics and Aptitude Test carries the same weightage as that of Paper 2A while the third part, Planning, is for 25 marks.
  • All papers will be carried out as a Computer-Based Test (CBT), except the Paper 2A Drawing Test which will be conducted offline on an A4 size paper.
  • All papers will be held for 3 hours (180 minutes) duration.
