JEE Main 2024 Exam Day Rules : The National Testing Agency will conduct JEE Main 2024 from January 24 to February 1, 2024 , and again in April 2024 . Both examinations will be conducted online, spanning two shifts: morning and evening. In both the tests and sessions, the NTA will implement new and strict rules during JEE Main 2024 exam. The officials will perform biometric verification and frisking after toilet breaks too to ensure the security and integrity of the examination process. This year, both verification processes will be conducted twice: at reporting and also after toilet breaks. The biometric verification will help confirm the candidate’s identity and frisking will be done to prohibit the entry of any unauthorized materials within the examination centre.
In 2023, over 12.3 lakh students (highest-ever) registered for the test. Hence, in 2024, the number of JEE Main applications is expected to surge. So, to improve test delivery and ensure fairness for hardworking candidates, these verification processes have been introduced. Another reason why it will be implemented is because two new cities, one in Tura in Meghalaya and Bastar in Chhattisgarh have been added to the existing list of exam centres, resulting in geographical expansion of JEE Main exam centres.
Along with performing biometric verification and frisking, NTA officials will technically train the observers so that they can identify and take strict actions against new-age methods of digital fraud. Since the examination will be computer-based, the observers should be able to detect cheating, and unfair practices on the digital platform. Last year, many complaints were received because of security concerns, therefore, technical training has also been prioritized for the 2024 exam conduct.
