JEE MAIN 2023 PAPER ANALYSIS: The morning shift on Day 2 of JEE Main January 2023 was conducted as an online CBT exam from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. There were no internal subject-wise time slots in the paper. Once the authentic memory-based questions are collected from the students, we will post here the subject-wise and topic-wise weightage for JEE Main 25 January Shift 1 paper.
As per the paper pattern, it had 30 questions per subject, divided into MCQs and NAT questions. Each subject had 20 MCQs and 10 NAT questions, out of which five were optional. There was a total of 90 questions in the paper. Each question has a weightage of four marks, with one being deducted for every incorrectly marked answer. Unanswered questions will neither deduct or award any marks.

JEE Main 25 January 2023 Shift 1 Major Highlights
The first day JEE Main papers were found to be of at moderate difficultly level. JEE Main todays paper was similar to that of the previous sessions. Since the shift has ended, the first reactions of the students to the papers will be added here as and when the reactions are recorded
- The overall difficulty of the paper was considered to be moderate to difficult
- Mathematics section was found to be lengthy by the students
- Physics section was considered to be easy
- Students found chemistry section to be moderate
- Physics section contained many formula based questions
- NAT section of Chemistry contained many questions from physical chemistry
- Mathematics NAT section was lengthy
- MCQ section of chemistry contained many questions from organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry
- Reaction based questions were asked from the organic chemistry topic
- NCERT based questions were asked more in physics and chemistry compared to mathematics section
- The overall difficulty of JEE Main todays paper is similar to that of previous sessions
