Internet Shutdown Could Not Deter Aryan Gupta As He Emerges As The Top Scorer of J&K in JEE Main 2020

Aryan successfully secured a cumulative percentile score of 99.733 in the JEE Main 2020. Says his father, who is also an engineer, inspires him to become one.

Aryan Gupta of Jammu & Kashmir became the highest scorer in JEE Mains 2020 (January) exam when he aggregated 99.73 percentile despite internet shutdown in the valley. His subject scores were phenomenal given the fact that only 307 students from the region could apply due to the prevalent internet crackdown. He amassed 99.63 in Mathematics, 99.65 in Chemistry and 99.41 in Physics resulting in a cumulative percentile score of 99.733 percentile in the prestigious exam. He said that instead of ruing over lack of internet connectivity, he referred to the offline resources to prepare for the JEE Mains 2020 exam.

While preparing for the exam, Aryan was helped by his teachers constantly and kept him motivated and stress-free. The teachers suggested him to just enjoy the exam without fussing too much about the end result, Aryan added. To crack the exam, he had made up his mind to attempt at least 70 questions.

Aryan also said that to crack an All-India level entrance examination like the JEE Main, which is taken by lakhs of students, the students must be consistent in their preparation. Inconsistency in preparation can bring predicament for the students. He also added that a flexible schedule and mental relaxation worked wonders for him. He wants to appear in the April session of the exam too to improve his score. He wishes to study at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) for which he also wishes to appear in the JEE Advanced 2020 exam .

Aryan’s suggestions to his fellow students and those who want to appear in the JEE main exam in the upcoming year is “Hardwork”. He feels that completing the syllabus with the help of the right kind of study resources is critical. One of the biggest reason for failure, he opined, is complacency which might become a hurdle too tough to cross to good marks.
