JEE Main Kota Topper 2020

If anyone wants to know how small steps can pave way for success, 18-year old Akhil Jain’s success story will surely intrigue them. At an age where most of the normal students glorify their smallest of achievements, Akhil Jain, a JEE Main 2020 topper, thinks otherwise. Instead of basking in his recent success, he plans to shift his focus towards JEE Advanced preparation and follow the route which opens up for him thereafter. Let us deal with those aspects which make Akhil’s story worthwhile.

Akhil is the son of a businessman who was brought up in the legendary city of Kota, a place known to be the hub of IIT’ians. He had a knack for mathematics and physics from his early days which propelled him towards taking the most sought-after engineering entrance exam in the country - JEE. During his tender days, he wanted to become a scientist but eventually decided to become an engineer as the days went by. He loves solving mathematical problems more than anything else. Akhil aims to join one of the IITs as it encompasses “innovation labs” where the brightest students are exposed to them.

Akhil has been among the top-performers throughout his schooling days. He translated that performance into the JEE Main 2020 exam as well where he was quite confident to make the cut to the next round. He became surer after seeing the JEE Main 2020 answer key . He will be the first from his family to join an engineering college.

When asked about his preparation strategy for the exam, he said that NCERT textbooks proved to be his best companion. The additional notes provided to him by his coaching institute also helped him a lot during his preparation days. By practising previous year test papers and online mock test series, he got the much-needed confidence boost that helped him in the exam. The pen-and-paper mode of the Class XIIth board examination helped him develop his speed of writing and calculation which he feels was of immense help on the date of the exam.

Akhil completely cut himself away from all the social media platforms while preparing for the JEE Mains 2020 (January) exam. This, he believes, has helped him stay focussed and stay away from the devils of the virtual world. He sacrificed all those hobbies of his which he felt at that time will diminish his chance of securing a seat in one of the Indian Institute of Technologies (IITs). However, he resorted to music to break the monotonicity. “30 minutes of good music acted as a stress buster for me,” said Akhil. He does not want to stay put at where he is currently and instead want to prepare for BITSAT too. He won’t appear in the April session of the JEE Main 2020 exam.

“The biggest difference between the Class XIIth exam and JEE Main exam is the latter requires more in-depth reading and analysing,” summed up Akhil.
