JEE Main Paper Review 28 January 2025 Shift 1: Like the other day, JEE Main 28 January shift 1 exam is being held from 9 AM to 12 PM. Once the shift 1 exam is over, the detailed exam analysis will be added here. Since the JEE Main exam is being held in online mode, therefore there will be no provision for receiving the question paper in hand. In turn based on the memory-based questions and students feedback, the feedback and exam weightage analysis will be added. So that the candidates from the upcoming days and shifts will get benefits and will understand the question pattern.

JEE Main Paper Review 28 January 2025 Shift 1: Students' Reviews

Based on the students' feedback who have appeared for the JEE Main 28th January shift 1 exam, the students’ review has been added here.

  • Physics paper was hard as per many students
  • Chemistry paper was NCERT based and was of moderate to tough level.
  • Maths was moderate to tough and lengthy too as per students
  • Overall difficulty level was hard
  • Overall good attempts would be 40-45
  • As per students, 99 percentile would be at 160-170 marks
  • Physics had no direct formula-based questions. Most questions were conceptual and tricky to solve. Question paper was lengthy too.
  • Students took 50 minutes to 1 hour to solve Physics section.
  • In Physics, Rotation topic had 3 questions (2 integer-based questions from Moment of Inertia and 1 question from Rolling subtopic). 1 question from Modern Physics (neutron conversion to antineutrino; 4 equations were given out which candidates must find the correct one). 2 easy yet lengthy questions from Current Electricity where r/3 were given in parallel and candidates were supposed to apply the direct formula to find resistance and 1 question asked to convert square into triangle and then find resistance and also find resistance ratio of square and triangle.
  • In Physics, 1 easy question from Logic Gate. 2 statement-based questions from Fluid Mechanics. 1 question had 3 infinitely long wires along X,Y,and Z axis where candidates were asked to find the equation for Equipotential Surface. 1 out of syllabus question from Carnot Cycle chapter involving good amount of calculation. 1 question from Work done. 1 out of syllabus question also came from Reynold number.
  • Maths paper had 3 questions from 3D Vector (1 question from vector and 2 questions from 3D), 1 question from integration, 1 question of limits mixed with differential equation, 1 question from Area Under the Curve, 1 lengthy question from Matrices and Determinants of adjoint mixed with Set Theory (number of elements were asked), 1 question from relation, 1 question from probability, 1 variance question. 2-3 questions came from Conic section.
  • In Chemistry, only 4 questions came from Organic Chemistry whereas Inorganic Chemistry dominated the overall Chemistry section with 10 questions and Physical Chemistry had 6-7 questions as per students. Higher number of questions were there from Periodic Table (questions where students were asked to compare Ionization energy and find out the most stable oxidation state of elements having hightest and lowest ionization energy). 1 very tough question came from Chemical Kinetics which was of advance level as per experts (the same question came in 2016). There was 1 easy question from GOC.
  • As per many students, inorganic chemistry was tough. There was one tricky question where elements were given from 21 to 30, and oxidation state was given. Organic chemistry was easy as per students. 1 statement-based tough question from Biomolecules where it was given that if Starch is heated at 100 degree celsius and at 280 atm pressure involving two different concepts.
  • Students got only 35-40 minutes to solve Maths paper.
  • As per experts, those students who had solved JEE Advanced PYQs will be at advantage in JEE Main 28 January 2025 Shift 1.
  • There was 1 tough question in Physics from sheet where a spring was attached from a ring and there was a bead and this question was based on natural energy conservation.
  • No questions from SHM in Physics and Ray Optics had 1 question which was of JEE Advanced level where one spherical bowl was there filled with water and there was coin inside it which was being observed by an observer from his level and candidates were asked to find out the refractive index in a way that the image of coin is seen at the same level as that of the observer. 1 question from Units and Dimension where Elasticity/ Torque was asked.
  • No questions fromm Kinematics chapter and 1 question from Heat Transfer topic mixed with thermodynamics where in a container pressure was doubled and there is ice and water filled inside it, temperature was kept constant, so, it was asked that first the quantity of ice will reduce or water or both. 1 graph-based question from Capacitance.
  • In Physics circular motion topic was mixed with Current Electricity where there was a charge which was moving at "a" distance from a wire at V0 velocity so the charge would get attracted to the wire so what will be its "x" distance that it starts undergoing circular motion.
  • In Maths, one question came from sequence and series. 1 question came from quadratic equation which was easy. 1 question came from Function chapter about fo(x) and fo(1-x) which was direct. 2 questions from Circle, and 1 question from Straight Line. 1 doable and one moderate question on Binomial Theorem mixed with Triangle along with another question asking locus of the centroid.
  • In Physics, no questions came from Gravitation chapter.
  • In Chemistry there was a tough question from two chapters mixed together, i.e. Salt Analysis + d and f block elements. No questions came from Isomerism. 1 integer type question on Mole Concept
  • In Physics, one tough question came from Centre of Mass where there was a square with variable density, sigma not x/ab and candidates were supposed to calculate its centre of mass. No questions came from Alternating Current chapter.
