The online entrance exam of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) will be conducted on June 4. It is conducted for the selection of students to the first MBBS course in the institute for the academic year 2017-2018. The applications were released online in March. The institute has released the admit card for JIPMER MBBS 2017 from May 22.

The exam will be held online in two shifts in 75 centres across the country. Morning shift will be from 10 am to 12:30 pm and the evening shift will be from 3 pm to 5:30 pm. The entrance exam offer 150 MBBS seats in Puducherry and 50 MBBS seats in Karaikal campus. This online entrance exam was introduced last year.

A total of 1,89,663 candidates have applied for JIPMER MBBS and the test will be held at 339 centres. As per the Supreme Court directive on NEET in 2016, JIPMER can conduct its own entrance test for providing admissions for 200 MBBS seats in its 2 medical colleges.
