New courses i n technology, pharmacy, education and media are likely to be introduced in Kolkata-based JIS University.
JIS University recently became a part of the United Nations Academic Impact.
According to JIS University vice-chancellor, Professor B C Mal, the aim of the University is to go beyond the technical engineering course and come up with courses in fields like aerospace engineering.
Apart from this, other new courses which are planning to be introduced include programmes in applied sectors of science, technology, medicine and management.
Courses in pharmacy, education and media are likely to start from this 2016-17 academic session.
Currently, courses in physics, chemistry, geology, biotechnology, management, hotel and hospitality management and law are made available for the students.
The university is also focussing on making skill development an important part of all UG and PG courses as they know that skills play a very big role in the industry.
Apart from being a part of more than 1000 top universities in the world, JIS university is in collaboration with Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok.
