JNTU Hyderabad to Implement Online Evaluation for B.Tech Semester Exams

JNTU Hyderabad is expected to implement online evaluation for B.Tech semester exams. The online evaluation of answer sheets of B.Tech semester exams of JNTU shall be implemented at the university-level and JNTU-H affiliated colleges. At present, the varsity is making necessary arrangements for implementing the online evaluation for B.Tech semesters exams from the upcoming academic session (2019-20).

In order to experiment with the online evaluation system, JNTU Hyderabad implemented the same for M.Tech exams. The M.Tech exams of JNTU Hyderabad have been concluded recently, and all the answer sheets are being digitally evaluated. The new system will reduce the errors in the evaluation process and the results of exams can be declared as early as possible.

Apart from the online evaluation, JNTU Hyderabad is planning to bring several reforms in the evaluation process. Among the major reforms, multiple assessment of answer sheet is one of the initiatives. As per the proposed reform, the answer sheet of a student will be assessed and evaluated by two examiners. Surprisingly, the first examiner will not know that the answer sheet evaluated by him/her will be sent for the second examination. On the other hand, the second examiner will not know the examiner who evaluated the answer sheet first.

The major objective for proposing the above reform is to regulate evaluation errors and ensure efficiency in the process.

Apart from the examination reforms, JNTU Hyderabad is launching a new M.Tech course in Data Science. The intake for the new course will be 80, and the course will be launched from the 2019-20 academic session.
