Several students’ unions protested recently in the Patna University area. The unions had divergent agendas for the protest. The unions such as DISHA and AISF protested at Kargil Chouk to condemn the arrest of Kanhayia Kumar, a JNU student hailing from Bihar and the president of JNUSU. Kanhaiya Kumar was picked up by the Delhi Police with the charges of sedition for supporting anti-national activities.
The other student unions such as AVBP protested seeking the arrest of people raising Anti-India Slogans in an event organized against at the JNU on 12th of February, 2016.
The event in question witnessed the separatist comments and slogans by some masked people at JNU, Delhi, followed by the arrest of Kanhaiya Kumar. The event organized at JNU and the subsequent arrest of the JNUSU president has caused a furore in the political and educational circle across the country in the past few days. The communities which consist of students, teachers and politicians have divided opinions on the righteousness of the series of events taken place in the past week.
