JNU or Jawaharlal Nehru University is planning to shift its entrance exams for all the courses from May to December. According to sources, the entrance tests for 2018 likely to take place in December 2017. The varsity made a proposal on the same in the Academic Council meet and got approval at a Standing Committee meeting. Currently, the proposal is on hold, and the varsity is figuring out its feasibility.

VC of JNU, Mr. Jagadeesh Kumar revealed that the entrance test for the year 2018 might take place in December 2017. The varsity has formed a committee to find modalities to conduct the entrance test. The VC further indicated that the varsity is trying to implement the proposal that got approval a long time back. He also assured that the varsity would try to fill vacancies in all faculties of Ph.D. and M.Phil by December 2017.

Mr. Jagadeesh Kumar also indicated that the varsity had directed all the centres to give details about the number of vacancies available with each teacher. The varsity will put the information on the prospectus once all the centres submit the report. The administration of JNU had begun writing to each centre on the same, he added.
The entrance tests for the admission to various courses at JNU have been wrapped up for the year 2017. The entrance tests commenced on May 16, 2017, and concluded on May 19, 2017. If everything goes as per plan, the entrance tests for the year 2018 will take place in December 2017.
