After the announcement of JEE Mains 2016 ranks , Joint Seat Allocation Authority 2016 has started with the counselling of the selected candidates. The JEE Mains 2016 ranks were announced on June 23rd on the official website of the conducting body i.e CBSE and of the exam. Qualified students can now register themselves for the counselling online and fill in their preferred course choices. Candidates can register by filling in their roll number and password .
On the basis of the choices filled in by the candidates, the seat allocation authority will announce a mock seat allocation on June 27. The last date to register and fill in the choices is June 28.
Candidates do not have to pay any fee for filling in choices, this process is free of cost.
This is a very important step for the candidates and they must carefully prioritize the academic programs while filling in the choices.
The advantage of doing that is that students can choose what courses they want on their own, students should choose as many academic programs as possible in the order of preference, JoSAA recommends.
In case a candidate does not fill in their choices, the last choices will be locked automatically for that particular candidate.
