JoSAA Round 2 seat allotment result has been released on November 1, 2021. Candidates who had opted for the Float/ Slide option in Round 1 shall be considered for the seat allotment in Round 2. The candidates must note that Float/ Slide options are available in Round 2 are available to only those candidates who did not get an allotment as per the first choice. Steps to Check JoSAA Round 2 Seat Allotment 2021

Here are the simple steps to check the Round 2 seat allotment result of JoSAA 2021 -

1. Click on the direct link available on this page or visit JoSAA’s official website
2. Enter the JEE Main Roll Number, Password and Security PIN to Sign-In
3. On the candidate’s login, click on the option that indicates seat allotment
4. Your seat allotment option will be displayed on the screen
5. Select the option such as Freeze/ Float/ Slide
6. If you are accepting the seat by selecting Freeze, upload the documents and pay the seat acceptance fee

Important Points Regarding JoSAA 2021 Round 2 Seat Allotment

Here are some of the important points that a candidate must consider before accepting the seat in Round 2 or option for Float/ Slide -

1. Candidates who get a better seat allotment in Round 2 must note that his/ her allocated seat in Round 1 shall be cancelled
2. Candidates choosing the Float/ Slide option must that the already allocated seat will remain till the candidates get a better allotment in subsequent rounds

Freeze, Float & Slide Option after JoSAA 2021 Round 2 Seat Allotment

After checking the Round 2 seat allotment result, the candidates will have three options to choose from -

Freeze: The freeze option is mandatory for candidates who secured a better seat allotment in Round 2 (as per the first choice). Such candidates are not allowed to choose Float/ Slide. Candidates freezing the seat will have to upload the documents and pay the seat acceptance fee of Rs. 35,000 (Rs. 15,000) for reserved categories.

Float: Candidates who did not get a seat as per the first choice and are looking for a better allotment in subsequent rounds can choose the ‘Float’ option. Such candidates must note that the existing allotment shall not get cancelled till the candidates get a better allotment in future rounds.

Slide: Candidates looking for a better course option within the allocated institute can choose the Slide option. In such cases, the already allocated seat shall not get cancelled till the candidates get a better seat allotment in subsequent rounds.
