The results for round 5 of seat allotment has been declared by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2016 on July 17.
In order to check the round 5 seat allotment results declared by JoSAA, candidates need to log in using their roll number and password for JEE Main 2016.
On July 18, candidates can accept or withdraw their names from the seats allotted to them.
Note: The candidates who have been allotted the sets during round 5 and also the candidates who have to do dual reporting, have to report to their respective reporting centers in order to accept the seats.
JoSAA Seat Acceptance fee (category wise)
- General, OBC-NCL or foreign national: Rs.45,000
- SC, ST, GEN-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD or ST-PwD: Rs.20,000
While accepting seats, three options are available to the candidates i.e ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’ or ‘Float’.
The status of vacant seats after allotment 4 has also been announced by JoSAA 2016 according to which about 175 seats are vacant in IIT Roorkee and seven NITs.
JoSAA was created in the year 2015 with the sole motive of reducing the number of vacant seats in IITs and NITs. Currently, the authority is organizing counseling sessions and seat allotment to fill up the 92 institutions participating in it.
