JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2024 LIVE UpdatesJoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2024 LIVE: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) declared the result for Round 1 seat allotment today, June 20. The official time for JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2024 is 10 AM. As the result is out, the online reporting will commence and its deadline is June 25, 5 PM. However, the deadline for seat acceptance fee payment is June 24, 5 PM.
The seat allocation for NIT, IIIT, and GFTIs is done as per JEE Main ranks; while the allocations for IITs are based on JEE Advanced ranks. Unlike mock allocations, JoSAA will release the Round 1 cutoff for all institutes, courses, and categories. Students can refer to these cutoffs to predict their admission chances in the next rounds.

Students will require their JEE Main Application Number and Password to access their allocation status. If a seat is allotted, the institute name, course name, allotted category, and allotted preference number (as per choice filling) will be displayed in the result.
What After JoSAA Round 1 Seat Allotment Result 2024?
If a seat is allotted in Round 1, students have three options to proceed further:
Freeze : If the candidate is satisfied with the institute and branch, then he/she may Freeze the seat and take admission. No further change in seat allocation will be made for Freeze candidates.
Float : If the candidate is not satisfied with the institute and branch, then he/she may Float the seat and wait for higher allocation in the subsequent rounds. Depending on the availability of vacancies, the seat allocation may or may not be changed.

If the candidate is satisfied with the institute but not the branch, then he/she may Slide the seat and wait for higher branch allocation at the same institute in subsequent rounds. Depending on the availability of branch vacancies, the seat allocation may or may not be changed.

Important Instructions to be followed after JoSAA Seat Allotment 2024 Round 1
Note 1: Once a higher preference as per choice filling is allotted, then the candidate will have no claim to the earlier allotted seat. The candidate can then either accept the higher allocation or exit the counselling process.
Note 2:
For all Freeze, Float, and Slide options, the payment of the seat acceptance fee is mandatory to retain the current allocation, either temporarily until the next round or directly for admission.
