The School of Distance Learning and Continuing Education (SDLCE) – Kakatiya University has launched five new courses for the academic session 2018-19. The varsity will soon issue an official notification for the admission to these courses. DEB (Distance Education Bureau) of the University Grants Commission ( UGC ) has accorded the permission to launch distance-learning courses. Apart from the new courses, UGC also recognised 29 courses offered by SDLCE for a period of five years, i.e., 2018-19 to 2023-24.
Kakatiya University New Distance Learning Courses:
UGC has granted permission to the following new courses to be offered by Kakatiya University: -
- M.A. Gender Studies
- Masters in Library Sciences (M.LISc)
- BBA
- M.A. Tourism Management
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

On the other hand, Kakatiya University has been given the deadline until September 18, 2018, to apply for the approval of Science courses at PG (Post Graduate) level .
The number of Kakatiya University Study Centres for running distance education courses is expected to increase this year. The varsity received 15 applications seeking approval for the recognition as a study centre. At present, there are 148 study centres across Telangana that offer distance learning courses of Kakatiya University.
The officials of Kakatiya University are also trying to get approval for LLM course from Distance Education Bureau.
