Kalyani University has introduced five new postgraduate programs in the field of Nano Science, Data Science, Genome Science, Nano Technology, and Computer Science. The Vice-Chancellor of Kalyani University, Shankar Kumar Ghosh informed about the same and said that the courses will be available from the upcoming academic year.
Mr. Shankar Kumar Ghosh informed that the new courses in M.Sc degree will be offered at the recently established Institute of School of Interdisciplinary Studies in Nadia District. He also said that the university has worked continuously to achieve excellence in traditional academic disciplines. However, the need for cooperation among various academic disciplines has become evident over the past few years. The interdisciplinary study helps the students and researchers to develop interactions across various disciplinary through their ideas and concepts.

For each new course, 20 seats will be available, but for the B.Sc honours students, they must appear for the written test and personal interview round for the admission. The fee for the program is Rs 40,000/- for the West Bengal students and for the other state the fee for the program is Rs 50,000/-. The course fee for the Foreign National Students is USD 1500 per semester.
An undergraduate student can also apply for the program for Computer Science and Food Nutrition. The fee for the Computer Science course is of Rs. 30,000/- per semester and the Food Nutrition its Rs. 20,000/- per semester.
