Karnataka NEET 2019 Aspirants who Missed the Exam to get another Chance

NEET 2019 aspirants who missed the exam due to a train delay will get another chance to appear for the exam. The exam will be re-conducted on May 20, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar informed through a tweet.

On May 5, 2019, hundreds of NEET 2019 aspirants from Karnataka failed to reach their venue as the train got delayed for 7 hours. Facing protests, the minister of Human Resource Development Ministry or MHRD, Prakash Javedekar promised a second chance to the 2019 NEET aspirants from Karnataka in a tweet on May 6.

MHRD minister Prakash Javedekar, in his tweet, informed that the National Testing Agency or NTA will conduct re-examination of the National Entrance or Eligibility Test (NEET) 2019 for the Karnataka Aspirants who could not make it to the venue as their train got delayed by 7 hours on May 5. He said that the re-examination of NEET 2019 will be conducted on 20th May 2019.

Javedekar, in his tweet, said that he is happy to announce the rescheduled date for NEET. On Sunday, 5th May, the NEET 2019 aspirants showed protests at the station due to their train getting delayed which was not their fault. On 5th, the Hampi Express - 16591 which runs from Hubli to Mysore reached Bengaluru City Junction station 7 hours late from the scheduled time. The South Eastern Railways has confirmed the truthfulness of the incident and requested the Ministry of Human Resource Development to conduct the examinations again.

While talking to ANI, the Public Relations Official (PRO) of South Eastern Railway informed that they had issued a letter to the MHRD as soon as they got information about the incident as there is no fault of the NEET aspirants.

Not only the South Eastern Railway but also the Cheif Minister of Karnataka, H D Kumaraswamy also appealed to the railway minister and MHRD to look into the matter.

Siddaramaiyah, the former chief minister of the state also addressed the issue on twitter and tagged the Prime Minister of India also.

Not only Karnataka, but the whole procedure of NEET 2019 examinations are also postponed in Odisha due to the devastating Cyclone Fani. The NSUI (National Student Union of India) and the state government of Odisha pleaded with the NTA to reschedule NEET 2019 in Odisha. The date of 2019 NEET examination in Odisha is also May 20.
