Kerala School Holiday Declared on 11 October 2024 (Image Credits: Pexels)School Holiday in Kerala for November 11: The state government of Kerala has announced that October 11 will be observed as a holiday for all classes to celebrate Navratri in all of its districts. All schools administered under the Kerala government will remain closed tomorrow to celebrate the Mahanavami occasion. All schools have been sent this notice internally regarding the holiday.
The Minister of General Education, V. Sivankutty announced this holiday for all schools the General Education Department governs. The department has advised the students to contact their schools to learn more about this.
Kerala School Holiday Declared on 11 October 2024 to celebrate Navratri
The eighth and ninth day of the annual Navratri will be celebrated on October 11 and 12 respectively. This will be followed by Dussehra which is on October 13. The government of Kerala has decided to mark one additional day to celebrate the Dussehra festival. All schools will resume their academic activities from Monday onwards. The same is expected from other government offices and banks in the state as well.
According to the previous announcement, the banks in Kerala will remain closed on October 11 and 12 for Durga Mahaashtami and Mahanavami celebrations respectively. However, the decision to add one more off to the holiday calendar has been made under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
Earlier, the holiday for Navratri celebration in Kerala was scheduled to be on October 10. However, it has been postponed to October 11. This decision was taken after a recent memorandum was submitted by the National Teachers’ Union (NTU) to the Chief Minister. The students are directed to join their respective schools from October 14 after the Dussehra vacation.
