King George's Medical University (KGMU) Lucknow has decided to change its curriculum to update its students with the latest on medical education.Vice-chancellor Dr Ravi Kant has appointed a committee of senior teachers for the purpose.
The committee is expected to submit its report in a month's time so that the changes may be integrated from the new academic session. "Medical science is changing every day and we wish when our students come out of the campus they are abreast with the latest. For this, we need to keep making additions to the course content," said KGMU vice-chancellor Dr Ravi Kant.
According to VC the medical curriculum is updated by the MCI, but that is done in gap of years. The committee, however, will give suggestions on monthly basis so that anything that students learn is added to subject curriculum.
The committee, includes Prof Mastan Singh, Prof SK Das, Prof Nar Singh Verma, Prof Punita Manik, besides heads of different departments.
