KiiT International School Successfully Concludes National Children's Literary Festival

KiiT International School Successfully Concludes National Children's Literary Festival

Kloud 9 organized National Children’s Literary Festival (NCLF) which was further hosted by KiiT International School as its fifth edition from November 18th to November 19th 2017.

The trend of Children’s Literary Festival was started by KIIT International School since 2013. It is a first of its kind festival which is meant exclusively for children and was idealised by the founder of KIIT - Professor Achyuta Samanta.

NCLF is the flagship event of Kloud9, which is a students magazine and is managed by the students itself. NCLF has become one of the most popular and loved festival among children since 2013. More than 35 schools across the country participated in the fest and a total of about 500 students took part in the event.

World famous author, Ruskin Bond was the Chief Adviser of the festival along with other eminent poets and authors, publishers, cartoonists, illustrators such as Arup Bose, Ameen Haque, Ajit Narayan, and Prajwal Parajuly. The bunch of these talented personalities captivated the audience with a variety of talk shows, vocabulary sessions, photography workshops and significantly more. From Ruskin Bond’s book reading session to Arup Bose’s talk on what makes a best seller, the event was a big hit!

The star performer of the event was Rangbaaz, an acclaimed theatre group from Mumbai. They performed on Jungle Book 2 - a play by Rudyard Kipling. Also, National Award Winner Nila Madhab Panda showcased his upcoming film Kadvi Hawa at the event. Ranvir Shorey, Sanjay Mishra, and Manish Mundra, who have acted in the film also graced the event with their presence.

To enhance the knowledge of the children, newspaper collection from 1947 was displayed. The two-day fest was a memorable and enriching experience for the students as such festivals instill in young minds importance of reading and enthusiasm for literature.
