Dr. Subrat Acharya, a renowned liver transplant physician, has taken charge as Pro-Chancellor of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) University. Recently, he retired from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and returned to his home state Odisha.
On taking charge as Pro-Chancellor, he ensured high-quality education at KIIT. He mentioned that best health care would be provided to the public through Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) . The students from the state, as well as neighbouring states, would get immense benefit by joining KIIT University.

Subrat Acharya was awarded Padma Sree in the year 2014 for his outstanding service in the field of medicine. He has also been honoured with prestigious JC Bose and Samanta Chandrasekhar awards. He also received Common Wealth Fellowship for research in liver ailments. So far, Acharya has published 200 research papers and authored eight books. He also holds the Editorship of two medical journals.

On the other hand, Major General Pradeep Kumar has taken charge as Medical Superintendent and Director of Surgical and allied services at Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS). Pradeep Kumar has been popularly known as one of the best gastrointestinal surgeons. He received trained from AIIMS and served as a Surgeon & GI Surgeon in Army Medical Corps for 34 years. He also served in various Command Military Hospitals at Lucknow, Pune, Chandigarh and Army Research and Referal Hospital, Delhi.
