Koneru Lakshmaiah University, Guntur inaugurated Startup Fest 2016 on September 28, 2016 . The primary objective of the fest is to encourage students to come up with innovative ideas. K L College of Engineering (KLCE) is organising the fest which will conclude on September 29, 2016 . The fest was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Rajahareen.

Addressing the students, he said that the development of the country is possible only through innovations. The students must play a significant role in conducting research and innovating new techniques in various fields. He mentioned that nowadays people are welcoming innovations in business, entertainment and sports. He appreciated the students of KLCE who have made more than 21 innovations which were successful in the market.
He also cited the examples of Ratan Tata, Ramanujam and Bhaskara Charya who made various innovations and brought good reputation to India. On this occasion, he launched the Souvenir of the fest which consists of various innovative ideas by the professors and students.
On the first day, a total number of 400 students have registered their names. Out of them 80 students took part in the fest and presented their innovative ideas. A total number of 30 ideas were selected which will be used for the establishment of various industries or ventures.
