This sunday the JEE Advanced results were declared. 1,47,678 students took one of the most competitive exam in india and 36,566 students successfully passed the exam.
But the result news was very big for some than the others like for Banwari Lal, 42 years old and a daily wage worker under the Government’s scheme MNREGA. This sunday is now the best of his life as he got to know that his son, Nitin cracked the JEE Advanced exam and stood 499 under the SC category in the All India ranking.
"Iski mehnat parivar ki kismat badal degi (His hard work will change the family's destiny)," says Banwari.
Banwari has a very difficult life, being a daily wage labour he does not earn a lot but this has never stopped him from trying to provide the best education he can to his children which includes three sons and one daughter.
Nitin, oldest son of Banwari studied at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, for IIT coaching classes Nitin used his scholarship money. He took coaching at a Jodhpur center for poor children. Nitin wants to study Electrical Engineering at IIT Kharagpur. Nitin’s family is very happy family but has concerns about how will they pay for IIT. "We don't need to pay as much as general category candidates would, but we still need money" said Nitin. Nitin’s teacher has assured him that they will collect funds to make sure he study in IIT.
Nitin has always been a good student he managed to score 85 percent in tenth standard and 84 percent in twelve standard.
