Union Minister of Textiles and Information & Broadcasting, Smriti Irani inaugurated the 92 nd Foundation Course at LBSNAA or Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration on August 29, 2017. Addressing the participants, she urged them to inculcate sensitivity towards the underprivileged and look upon themselves as curator of citizens of India. She hoped that the young officers of newly launched course will work curiously and enthusiastically to bring in development in the most backward parts of the country. She further suggested the participants make use of technology in an effective way for better service delivery. Digital India is one of the initiatives that will help them embrace the technology, she added.

Smriti Irani hoped that exceptional and best practices of private and public sector will be assimilated by the Office Trainees.
She administered the Oath of Allegiance to the Constitution of India for Officer Trainees and also interacted with them on the occasion.
The candidates who have been selected for the 92 nd Foundation Course represent 17 civil services of India and 3 services of Bhutan. Among the total of 369 Officer Trainees shortlisted, 11 belong to Bhutan.

Upma Choudhary, Director of the Academy felicitated the Chief Guest on the occasion. Addressing the Officer Trainees, she urged them to utilize the time effectively for acquiring new skills, building interpersonal relationships and make use of all the facilities available. She also focused on the motto of the Academy - ‘Sheelam Param Bhushanam’.
