The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced a major change in the marking scheme of the main examination. Now, negative marking will be there in JEE Main 2022 Exam. The negative marking will be there in both Section A and B of each subject.
Each subject will have two parts in the JEE Main 2022 examination paper. There will be 20 compulsory multiple-choice questions (MCQ) in section A, there will be 10 numerical questions in section B, of which students must only answer five.

The NTA introduced Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) last year in JEE Main. This year the authorities added the option of negative marking also. So, candidates need to answer questions carefully as negative marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer given in the examination. And the final marks will be calculated accordingly that will affect the aspirant's ranking.
Important Highlights
The NTA has done the following list of changes in JEE Main 2022 -
- This year only two rounds of JEE Main 2022 Examination will be conducted.
- There will be negative marking in the JEE Main Examination 2022.
- Candidates will have to enter the OTP received on their registered phone numbers and email before proceeding with the application process.
- Choice of the cities will be based on the permanent address of the candidate.
- Guardian's- father and mother's gross income is mandatory to be mentioned in the application form.
- After the registration, the confirmation page and the scorecard after the results will be sent to the candidates in the respective mail.
- For receiving notifications from NTA, candidates can install SANDES on their smartphones.
- the exam centers have increased compared to last year.
- Candidates with a physical disability will be provided scribes by NTA.
- The application form of JEE Main 2022 has been divided into sections like step1- registration from, step-2 application form.
- An option has been added for capturing the Aadhaar number in the application form.
