Undergraduate law course (LLB five years) of the Lucknow University (LU) is in demand this year asthere are 13 candidates per LLB (integrated) seat, on second number there are 12 candidates for each BSc (Maths) seat, reveals an assessment of the total number of admission forms received by LU till Monday .
Further, 11 candidates have applied for each BCom seat while nine are competing for each BSc (Biology) seat.In comparison, there are only two candidates per seat in BA, which means every second candidate in BA is likely to get admission. Total forms received were around 24,000, of which 1,580 forms were submitted against 120 seats of LLB (Five Years).
Taking into account the number of applications, BCom is the most popular followed by Bsc Maths, Bsc Bio, BA, and LLB.“BCom is top choice because a commerce commerce graduate can go for management, chartered accountancy , company secretary , banking, academics and civil services, among others,“ said commerce dean Arvind Kumar.
According to Dean science R R Singh, those opting for BSc in mathematics have options of engineering, academics, civil services and management among others.
Apart from judicial services or practising law, LLB graduates can also opt to be legal advisors to public and private companies including banks.
