Neha Mishra an eighteen years old student from Lucknow made the city proud when she toppped the
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT)
entrance test for Bachelor of Design,
“I was shocked for few moments and got back to my normal self when my phone started ringing. I dreamt of a decent rank but all India 1 which I never dreamt of ,'' said Neha while talking to the media.
Come next july she will be in the class room of NIFT, Delhi . A resident of Balaganj, Neha is a humanities student from Study Hall and scored 94.1% % in 12th examination. She had finished her class 10 from Delhi Public School, Jankipuram. For NIFT she took the first written round in Lucknow and the second round took place in NIFT Rae Bareli.
Daughter of a doctor couple , she was always interested in arts and something creative. She was very active from her school days. “ In school, I had always participated in poster making competitions and debates. My parents are great support for me and they fully supported me on my being a fashion designer,'' said Neha
Her father Rajesh Kumar Mishra is an anesthetic and runs his own hospital in Lucknow while Her mother Poonam Mishra is a gynecologist in the same hospital.
The NIFT entrance has a creative and general ability test of 80 marks and a 20-mark situation test. ``I was asked to make a cafe at a car rally venue from materials like hardboard, quilling paper, straws etc. I think the cafe impressed the evaluators. I religiously studied mathematics and reasoning. I always read the newspaper and watch TV for news headline updated with general happenings,'' said Nehan. In future I want to be an an entrepreneur,” she added further .
