Candidates who have applied for master’s programme in Sanskrit or Business Economics at Lucknow University will not be required to sit for the university’s entrance exam.
As per the sources, the university is not conducting the entrance exam as these courses have more seats than the number of applications received for it. Therefore, the university officials have decided to not conduct the entrance exam for these two courses.

In total, there are 10 such post graduation courses for which applications received by the varsity are lesser than the number of seats available. The admission to these programmes will be on the basis of the marks scored by candidates in their graduation.
The university, in total, offers 62 postgraduate courses out of which no entrance test was conducted last year for 26 PG courses due to the less number of applications received. Apart from this, they are also planning not to run M.A. in French for the same reason. The number of seats in the course is 40 while only seven applications have been received for the same till now, which is way less than the minimum number as well.

As per the university regulations, the number of applications received should be at least 40% of the total seats. Therefore, the varsity might not run the course this year. Anil Mishra, LU Admission Coordinator, PG Admissions said that the final decision on the matter will be taken by admission committee only.
