Lucknow University is all set to change the admission rules for Post Graduate and Doctoral courses from the new academic session. The decision taken by the varsity will affect around 15,000 students applying for various Ph.D. and PG courses. However, the final decision regarding the change of admission rules will be taken at a meeting on April 8, 2017.
As per the proposed changes, the varsity will scrap the policy of 80% reservation in PG courses for the candidates who completed their UG in Lucknow University. The varsity will provide equal opportunity to all the students. On the other hand, the varsity will give more weightage to the marks scored in entrance examination than interview for the admission to Ph.D. programmes.
