Depending on the choice of upgradation, the seat acceptance can be done as follows:

  • The candidates who have been allotted Preference 1 must take admission at the allotted institute. Such candidates are ineligible for participation in further counselling rounds, regardless if they join the allotted seat or not.
  • Candidates who have been allotted other than Preference 1, i.e., 2 or lower, have the option to go for betterment.
  • If Preference 2 or lower candidates are satisfied with the allocation, they may ‘Freeze’ their seat and take admission at the allotted college.
  • Once the seat is Freezed, the candidate shall pay Rs. 1,000/- as Seat Acceptance Fee and download the Seat Allotment Letter. This, along with other uploaded documents in the application form, are to be carried to the allotted centre at the time of admission.
  • If Freeze candidates do not take admission within the given deadline, their allotted seat will stand cancelled and these candidates will remain ineligible for next-round participation.
  • Now, those candidates who wish for betterment shall select the ‘Betterment’ option instead of Freeze. Such candidates too will have to pay Rs. 1,000/- as Seat Acceptance Fee, otherwise their seat too shall stand cancelled.
  • Betterment candidates do not have to report physically at the allotted institute. However, Betterment candidates must submit a fresh option form during round 2 (November 4 to 10). Already filled-in option forms will not be carried forward to the next round. Those who do not submit the fresh option form will not be considered for round 2 seat allotment.
  • Candidates can change their seat acceptance status (Freeze to Betterment and vice-versa) using the ‘Set Seat Acceptance Status’ link before the deadline of November 2. It is not applicable for Preference 1 allotted candidates as their seats are auto-freeze.
