Students pursuing five-year BA LLB course at Maharaja Sayajirao University Faculty of Law will have more language options soon. Students will be provided with alternative language choices during their studies, and the move will benefit the students. So far, BA LLB students at M S University have the option to choose only German language as the other language for 4 th , 5 th and 6 th semesters. However, English will remain as the compulsory language for students until the completion of course.
On February 07, 2018, Senate Member of M S University, Mr. Mehul Lakhani moved the proposal to provide alternative language options to students in BA LLB course. After the discussions, the proposal was approved by the Faculty Board.

Apart from choosing German as the other language, students have a choice to choose Sanskrit , Gujarati, Hindi and French during their studies. Mr. Lakhani has been trying to bring more language choices for the students. Finally, he was successful in getting approval to the proposal.
The Faculty Board approved the alternative language proposal with some conditions. According to the guidelines, the language options would be available to students only if 15% students apply for that particular language. For example, if 23 students out of 150 choose French as another language, they will be given chance to select French during their semester studies.

Students will be able to choose the newly added languages from the upcoming academic session. The decision taken by Faculty of Law received appreciation from students.
