MSBSHSE has made it compulsory for students appearing for the SSC, and HSC Board Exam in 2023 to have a minimum of 75% attendance. The same rule was applied during the pre-pandemic session but due to the pandemic state did not approve the proposal of 75% mandate attendance for the board exam conducted during the March April 2022 session.
However, things are coming back on track and schools have reopened their doors. The state education board directed junior colleges and CBSE-affiliated schools to mandate the 75% attendance criteria. The recently proposed attendance criteria will be applicable for both the terms i.e. (June - October and October - February)

Many headmasters and principals have complained about students not being regular in classes. Undoubtedly the corona pandemic pushed every student online as most of the schools shut down. But as the schools are coming back on track, the state has confirmed to enforce and maintain attendance strictly. While there are schools who have maintained the hybrid mode with the being conducted online but still attendance is compulsory.
There are students who reported a learning gap which is why remedial classes are made mandatory in many schools. Many principles claimed that 75% attendance is not difficult to meet for many students. The board issued strict instructions that every student needs to fulfil the attendance requirement before filling out a form for the HSC and SSC exam.
The HSC exam will be conducted from 21st February 2023 and the SSC exam will be conducted from 2nd March 2022. The date for the oral exam will be released soon on the official website. Most of the schools and junior colleges are focusing on completing the syllabus by December 2022 and getting started with the preliminary exam in January.
