If a candidate is not getting the option to select the not freeze option in the student login after CAP Round 1 allotment then implies that the seat allotted to the candidate is auto-freeze and the candidate got allotment as per the first preference selected during the choice filling process.

- After accepting the seat through the student's dashboard candidate need to visit the institute to confirm the admission
- Candidate needs to carry the original documents along with a copy of them to the institute
- Institute will verify the document and upload the admission status of the candidate in the online system
- Candidates also need to pay the fees to complete the admission process
- A system-generated receipt of confirmation of admission will be issued to the candidate
- If the candidate fails to provide the required document or there is any issue with the document then his/her admission will not be accepted

Similar to that of the regular cutoff, for Maharashtra DSE seat allotment, the cutoff for the TFWS category too changes with respect to the institute and branch. However, for the same institute/branch, the TFWS cutoff is usually higher than that of other reservation categories.

Maharashtra DSE Seat Allotment 2022: What is TFWS?
TFWS stands for Tuition Fee Waiver System. Candidates who have been allotted a seat under this system through Maharashtra DSE seat allotment CAP round 1 are NOT required to pay the Tuition Fees at the allotted institute. Only Development Fees and Other Fees will have to be paid by the candidate under this scheme. Those whose annual income is less than 8 LPA are eligible for TFWS seats, if only the candidate has opted for TFWS at the time of counselling registration.

TFWS scheme is applicable to those colleges wherein at least 50% of the seats were occupied in the previous years. In these colleges, 5% of the total seats (including open and reserved seats) are reserved for TFWS candidates.

Maharashtra DSE Seat Allotment 2022: Sequence of Allotment (1/2)
The seat allotment is processed based on their General State Merit Rank as per the following sequence:
- Open, Reserved, Male, Female, Tuition Fee Waiver candidates are first considered for open or unreserved seats based on their Inter-se-merit.
- OBC candidates shall be considered for allotment in the open category first as per their inter-se-merit, and if open category seats are not available at their merit, they will then be considered in their respective reservation category.
- SBC candidates who were earlier in the OBC category shall be considered for allotment in the open category first as per their inter-se-merit, and if open category seats are not available at their merit, they will then be considered in the OBC reservation category.
- Only EWS candidates will first be considered in the EWS reservation category as per their inter-se-merit, then in the open category.

Yes, the option to refuse a seat altogether is also available after Maharashtra DSE seat allotment, although not directly. Those who wish to refuse their seat must not pay the seat acceptance fee and their current allocation will be auto-refused and considered as a vacant seat for the next round. They will remain eligible for the next rounds. However, it is advised to retain a seat and go for betterment than refuse a seat to go for betterment.

In the event wherein a candidate has been allotted a seat but is not satisfied with the allotment and wishes to go for seat modification in Round 2 shall opt for Betterment during the online reporting. Post Maharashtra DSE seat allotment, the Betterment option allows candidates to retain their current seat allocation and go for seat modification. However, once a better seat is allotted, the current allocation will automatically be cancelled and the candidate will have no claim to the currently allotted seat now.

Freeze is one of the two options that can be exercised by the candidates after Maharashtra DSE seat allotment. If a candidate who has been allotted Preference 2 or lower but is satisfied with their seat allotment and does not wish for further betterment can voluntarily Freeze their seat to confirm it. Such candidates too will have to visit their allotted institute to confirm their admission otherwise their allotted seat will be cancelled.

As per the guidelines given by CET Cell, those candidates who have been allotted their first preference as given in the option form will have their seats Auto-Freezed by the system. Such candidates will not be allowed for any of the upcoming counselling rounds, regardless if they take admission there or not.
