Maharashtra Governor Directs Mumbai University to Declare Pending and Re-Evaluation Results

Governor of Maharashtra and Chancellor of the University of Mumbai, Mr. Vidyasagar Rao directed the authorities of Mumbai University to declare the results if 11,981 candidates that were reserved until last week. He directed the varsity to take up the issue as a top priority and announce the results as early as possible. The varsity should also carry out the re-evaluation process in a timely manner so that students don't suffer due to the delay, he added. The varsity received 46,806 requests for the re-evaluation of answer sheets.

The Governor lauded the efforts of Professor Devanand Shinde (Acting VC), Professor Dhiren Patel (Pro VC) and Arjun Ghatule (Director of Board of Exams) in completing the task of announcing the results of 477 examinations.

The Governor of the state along with Chief Minister, Mr. Fadnavis reviewed the progress of declaration of results of Mumbai University. A meeting was convened for this purpose where they reviewed the preparations done by the varsity for conducting winter exams, which are scheduled to begin from November 8, 2017.

During the meeting, Mr. Vidyasagar Rao directed the varsity to announce the results of winter exams within 30 or 45 days after the completion of exams. Mr. Fadnavis informed the varsity that it should not repeat the mistakes that were committed in the ‘On Screen’ assessment process again. He said that invigilators must be trained in advance to carry out the process. He indicated the state government would make every possible effort to enhance the reputation of the varsity.
