Maharashtra state government is planning to set up an integrated computer system for university functions will cover up the entire academic cycle of students i.e. admission to graduation.
The single platform will store information related to the student such as student’s admission, assignments, eligibility, results, tests, practicals, certificates, etc. The system is known as Integrated University Management System-IUMS will be live for all the universities of the state besides the non-agricultural universities from the 2019 academic session.

As per the reports, the government will soon set up the meeting with stakeholders from 14 universities of the state to understand their requirements and clear their queries.They will also form core groups in every university so that they can make them understand the whole process. The main aim of the platform is to provide students with end-to-end solutions.
The government has formed two committees for the platform. As of now, they are working towards developing the software for the same and will go through various user acceptance test before going live. All the current data related to the students will be transferred to IUMS once it's live. State Govt. will also run security audits to make sure that data is safe and secure.

Once the details about the student go digital , they are also planning to make all academic and administrative activities of the university digital. The stakeholder will be provided with their respective login ID and password. Not just students, the university’s academic and administrative activities will also go digital. Activities of the board of studies, setting of syllabi and introduction of courses will go online. Each stakeholder will have its own log-in and password.
