Maharashtra HSC (12th) Paper Pattern 2023

Maharashtra HSC Blueprint 2023: As physics has a practical examination, the written paper for it is conducted for 70 marks only. There are a total of four sections in the written exam paper. There will be numerical in each of the sections. The total numerical weightage in the paper will be between 12 to 15 marks strictly. The rest of the paper will be theory-based. In the four sections of the paper, Section A has MCQ and VSA questions. Section B & C has SA questions while the last Section D has LA questions.

During the examination, the use of a log table will be allowed and values of major physical constants will be given. Also, for MCQs, candidates must write answers like e.g. if option b is correct: (b) …(option in words as given)…. It is also to be noted that only first attempt of MCQs will be considered for evaluation.

Maharashtra HSC (12th) Physics 2023 Question Paper Format

The question paper format as per the sections is detailed below:

1. Section A

  • Q.No.1 Select and write the correct answer. [7 theory + 3 numericals]

  • Sub-questions: (i) to (x) for one mark each

  • Type: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

  • Marks without options: 10 marks

  • Marks with options: 10 marks

  • Q.No.2 Answer the following. [6 theory + 2 numericals]

  • Sub-questions: (i) to (viii) for one mark each

  • Type: Very Short Answer (VSA)

  • Marks without options: 8 marks

  • Marks with options: 8 marks

2. Section B

  • Attempt any EIGHT of the following questions. [7 theory + 5 numericals]

  • Questions: Q.No.3 to Q.No.14 for 2 marks each

  • Type: Short Answer-I (SA-I)

  • Marks without options: 16 marks

  • Marks with options: 24 marks

3. Section C

  • Attempt any EIGHT of the following questions. [7 theory + 5 numericals]

  • Questions: Q.No.15 to Q.No.26 for 3 marks each

  • Type: Short Answer-II (SA-II)

  • Marks without options: 24 marks

  • Marks with options: 36 marks

4. Section D

  • Attempt any THREE of the following questions.

  • Each question will have 2 marks of theory and 2 marks of numericals

  • Questions: Q.No.27 to Q.No. 31 for four marks each

  • Type: Long Answer (LA)

  • Marks without options: 12 marks

  • Marks with options: 20 marks
