The Maharashtra NMMS 2024 exam does not have a separate cutoff criterion; instead, candidates are required to meet the minimum qualifying marks to pass. The cut-off marks are categorized based on General, OBC, SC, and ST categories, providing clarity to students and parents regarding the qualifying criteria for this prestigious scholarship. For students in the general category, qualification requires obtaining a minimum of 40% marks, while reserved category candidates need to secure at least 32%.

Is it mandatory to meet Maharashtra NMMS Cut Off Marks 2024 in both papers?

No, it is not mandatory to meet Maharashtra NMMS 2024 cutoff in both papers. Inclusive of MAT and SAT papers, the candidate should meet their respective cutoff percentage. If a candidate has 30% in MAT but 60 to 70% marks in SAT, thus the overall score is more than 40% (32% for SC/ST/PwD), then the candidate will be considered as qualified for the scholarship.

Maharashtra NMMS Cutoff 2024: Tie-Breaking Policy

In instances of score ties, the following tie-breaking procedure will be followed:
  • Priority will be accorded to the student with superior marks on the Mental Ability Test (MAT) paper.

  • If the MAT paper scores are identical, preference will be given to the student with higher marks in mathematics on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) paper.

  • Should the mathematics scores on the SAT paper also be equal, then preference will be granted to the student with higher marks in science.

  • If the tie persists, precedence will be given to the older student.

  • In cases of identical age, priority will be assigned to the student based on the English initial of their last name.
