An MBA woman has become the Sarpanch of Sugh village in Yamunanagar district of Haryana by defeating the wife of her husband's elder brother in the panchayat polls held on Monday which has caught the attention of all.
In a tough fighting Richa polled 461 votes while her 'jethani' Palwinder Kaur secured 317 votes in the direct contest for the post of sarpanch.
A graduate, Kaur is wife of outgoing village sarpanch Gagandeep Singh, while Richa had left the job of an assistant professor in a private college seven years ago to look after her family.
