Currently, 109170 seats are available for medical courses throughout 706 medical colleges in India. Of these, 50,685 seats are in private MBBS colleges and approximately 55,648 seats are in government colleges. The government raised this figure by 5150 seats for MBBS programs in 2024.
NEET UG is the single largest medical admission test, with over 24 lakh students taking part each year. Aspirants should be pleased to learn that the number of seats will grow by 10% in 2024. This rise will enable students to enroll in 532 medical and 313 dental institutes across India.
