The reason for derecognizing degrees was that in a recent meeting that was held between MCI and NEIGRIHMS, it had been pointed that three departments of the college, i.e., Radiodiagnosis, General Surgery and Anesthesiology are under the radar of shortcomings.
Prof. Prithwis Bhattacharya, Director of NEIGRIHMS, revealed that some people are intentionally trying to malign the institute by bringing out various issues for vested interests. He added that the institute had already received a notice from MCI regarding derecognition of PG degrees.

He indicated that the institute has to resolve all the issues and shortcomings by next year. MCI will come for inspection in 2017, and proper measures must be taken to resolve the issues that are pointed by MCI. He mentioned that the management of the college is already started to take necessary measures.
A team of MCI visited the college recently and pointed that Anesthesiology department was short of a faculty member and the college submitted the evidence that all the faculty members are regular employees. On the other hand, MCI lashed out the college for not maintaining a senior resident doctor but submitted the evidence to MCI that the college has a senior resident doctor.
