The Gujarat University’s decision to conduct the final exams of the subject Economics for M.Com second semester as per the old syllabus has caused a lot of anxiety and confusion among the students studying in GU affiliated colleges.
The main reason behind the confusion is that colleges taught the students as per the new curriculum and they have also given the mid-terms as per the new syllabus prescribed by the Gujarat University. However, a month before the final examination university informed the colleges that the final examination will be conducted on the basis of the old syllabus.

This decision of the GU caused outrage among the students due to which they made a representation before the Controller of the Examination as well as the board. But the GU officials stuck to their decisions and informed the students that the decision cannot be changed.
As per the representation made by the students for the GU authorities, students placed a circular issued by the university stating that the new syllabus should be given to new students and the old syllabus should continue for the old students. However, the university officials are adamant about their decision and ignored their plea.

The confusion came into light when few students of the RT Tiberwal College received a message informing that the final exam will be conducted as per the old curriculum. Therefore, all students attending the college would start all the classes afresh as per the old syllabus.
