On February 2 Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be inaugurating the Employee State Insurance Corporation Medical College and also address a public meeting in Coimbatore.
The state media in-charge S.R. Seghar stated that the PM would be doing the inauguration at 3 pm and thereafter would address a meeting at the grounds near the CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex at around 6 pm.
It is quite likely that the Prime Minister’s meeting would kick start BJPs election campaign in the western districts where it believes it has a good presence. In order to mobilise as many public workers from the Nilgiris to Salem district the party leaders are working very hard. According to Mr. Seghar,” Our target is to make one lakh persons attend the rally.”
In addition to mobilising workers the party is making every effort to woo the alliance partners so that they can share the stage with Mr. Modi. If the BJP sources are to be believed then the presence of the Prime Minister would boost the confidence of the party workers and leaders ahead of the Assembly polls. The party is strongly focusing on those Assembly segments where it performed well in the 2014 Parliamentary election.
