Adding another extraordinary JEE story, 18-year old Rachna Chaudhary cleared the JEE Main 2017 exam despite her physical disabilities. Setting an example for the various IIT aspirants in the country, Rachna has proved that no disability can stop a student from achieving their dreams.
Inspired by the achievements of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam, Rachna is currently preparing for the JEE Advanced exam. Rachna is 70% disabled and but is determined to make it to the top engineering colleges despite having stunted fingers and toes.
Rachna also suffers from a lung infection. All this is not enough to stop Rachna from pursuing her dreams. She continues to work hard and is battling all odds to clear the JEE Advanced examination and secure a seat at one of the IITs in India.

Rachna belongs to a very humble background. Due to a psychiatric condition, her father has been bedridden for years. Rachna’s mother is the only earning member in the family and makes Rs. 10,000 per month. She also has two brothers and one of them suffers from cerebral palsy.
The daunting facets of her life couldn’t demotivate Rachna but have strengthened her spirits to do better in life. With a lot of preparation and hard work, she secured a rank of 2,072 across India under the PwD (Persons with Disabilities) category.

Rachna wants to become an engineer and follow the footsteps of former Indian president Dr. Abdul Kalam. She will be appearing for JEE Advanced 2017 on May 21.
