Since its establishment in June 29, 1900, the Nobel Foundation has been honoring men and women from various fields for their extraordinary work in field of Chemistry, Physics, Literature, Physiology or Medicine and work done for Peace.

Every year the by Swedish and Norwegian institutions recognize individuals that are worthy of the award. The Nobel Foundation, started in 1895 to honor the will left by Alfred Nobel has been managing the administration and finances of Nobel Prizes for more than a century.

Over the years the Nobel Prizes have been shedding light on the outstanding work done by people across the world. The Nobel Foundation has recognized great inventions and other essential work at individual levels such as the discovery of X-Rays by Wilhelm Röntgen's, Radioactivity by Marie Curie, Sully Prudhomme and Rabindranath Tagore for achievements in Literature, Albert Einstein for the discovery of Photoelectric effect, Kailash Satyarthi for his struggle against suppression of children and many others.

The Nobel Laureates will receive the Nobel Medal, Nobel Diploma and a verification of the Nobel Prize amount on December 10, 2016 in Stockholm from King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden. The Nobel Peace Prize Laureates will receive the prize in Oslo from the Chairman of Norwegian Nobel committee in the presence of King Harald V of Norway.
